Note that not all devices are automatically eligible for Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU). There are important conditions to keep in mind:
Eligible Devices
- Devices running Windows 10 Enterprise, Education, or IoT Enterprise editions.
- Devices running Windows 10 Pro (ESU must be purchased separately).
- Devices that meet Microsoft’s minimum hardware requirements for Windows 10.
Not Eligible
- Devices running Windows 10 Home (ESU not supported).
- Devices that no longer meet hardware requirements (even if running Pro/Enterprise).
- Devices already upgraded to Windows 11 (ESU not required).
Additional Notes:
- ESU is a paid program, providing critical and important security updates for up to 3 years after Windows 10 end of support (14 Oct 2025 → 14 Oct 2028).
- ESU must be purchased annually to remain covered (Year 1, Year 2, Year 3).
- Devices must be running a genuine, activated copy of Windows 10.

Program Notes:
YEAR 1 (2025-2026)Coverage Period: October 15, 2025 – October 13, 2026
Purpose: This is the foundational year of the ESU program. It ensures uninterrupted security patching immediately after Windows 10 reaches end-of-support.
Eligibility: All devices running Windows 10 version 22H2 are eligible. Enrollment is open to both commercial and consumer users.
Year 2 (2026–2027)Coverage Period: October 14, 2026 – October 12, 2027
Purpose: Continues the security-only coverage for organizations that have not yet completed migration.
Pricing: The cost doubles from Year 1, reflecting the increasing urgency to migrate.
Year 3 (2027–2028)Coverage Period: October 13, 2027 – October 10, 2028
Purpose: Final year of ESU coverage. Intended for organizations with exceptional circumstances preventing migration.
Requirement: Must have purchased both Year 1 and Year 2 to qualify.
Pricing: Again, the cost doubles from the previous year, emphasizing that this is a last-resort option
